There are numerous beaches on Útila. Playa Chepas is situated right on the main road that runs through Útila and is characterised by its oversized, colourful wooden benches and chairs. There are also a few covered wooden canopies with straw umbrellas in the water, which do give the beach a certain picturesque charm.
I ran into the beach on my very first evening, as it’s right in front of the only hostel on Útila that’s just a hostel and not also a diving school. A really lovely and unique beach.

Go or not? As I would generally recommend exploring Útila from top to bottom, you’ll pass this beach anyway. However, I would at least stop to take a photo of the beach as well as the white chair with ‘I love Útila’ on it 😀 😊
