Cathedral and Park – San Luis Potosí
Pretty, sweet and relaxed but lively. That’s how I would describe the cathedral and park in San Luis Potosí.
Mexico is a beautiful, diverse and incredibly large country. I think many people are kind of hesitant visiting Mexico by the fear of others or stories they heard somewhere. But the truth is that if you’re a tourist – backpacker or otherwise – you’re almost immune to most things that actually are dangerous. And if you run around in the wrong areas with branded clothes or expensive jewellery or forget to zip up your zips and bags, it’s a) your fault and b) a pickpocket in Europe could steal that something from your pocket too. Apart from that, what many people don’t realise is how incredibly big Mexico is. As the states are very different from each other – basically like in Germany (example NRW and Bavaria – just saying) – the country is incredibly diverse and has an incredible amount to see and travel through. There are also many different cultures and landscapes. You don’t have to travel Mexico as extensively as I did, but… Mexico is not just Mexico City or Cancún (if you’ve only been there, you haven’t actually been to Mexico, btw, but more on that later), Cabo San Lucas or Tijuana (same as Cancún – both), then you simply haven’t got to know the real and diverse Mexico. But no worries, I’ll introduce you to Mexico step by step 😉 And I really have seen a lot, trust me 😀

A beautiful majestic canyon, that has a very famous and beautiful curve - and on top of that also a great viewpoint.

A small, but very special village close to San Cristóbal with a church, that left an impression on me - a not at all religious person.
A wonder of nature close to Oaxaca. On top refreshing natural baths with a view, that is really beautiful.
On this market there is absolutely everything, that you could want yourself from Mexico or as a souvenir or also just like that. And that pricewise pretty cheap - just don't forget to bargain 😉

Elegant, beautiful and in the middle of a real paradise. This waterfall is not just one of the most beautiful ones in Mexico, but on top surrounded by a lagoon.
Pyramids close to Mexico City. A small but very beautiful area, that in spite of it's proximity to a big city surprises with beautiful views.
A neighbourhood of Mexico City that consists of canals. A great trip for one day to get out and into the green and nature by boat.

The famous anthropological museum of Mexico City. Huge, incredibly detailed and really well done. Also for people who usually don't like museums too much.
A museum, that reminds of a lot of bad things in the history of humanity, asks for tolerance and leaves you thoughtful. Not necessarily easy to take in, but nevertheless a highlight.
Completely stuffed, chaotic and super typical mexican. On top on the street, huge and complety inevitable.
The most mexican market I've ever been to. Because: huge, completely unstructured and completely full of locals. And obviously there's absolutely EVERYTHING.
The witch market of Mexico City. Well not like really and completely, but it's got it's fame and the atmo really is there. Plus there are special things that don't exist on other mexican markets.
The "Calle Reforma" is one of the heart pieces in the centre of Mexico City. She is one of the most beautiful, biggest and cleanest streets of the city and sundays mexicans also do sports here together.
The centre of Mexico City is marked by various things and buildings like for example: Bellas Artes, the Zocale with the cathedral, Madero and much much more.
