Admittedly, I haven’t paid much attention to Cologne’s graffiti for a long time. And they are certainly not the highlight of our city. We are still known for our graffiti. Nevertheless, I like them and would like to introduce them. So if you like graffiti and fancy a bit of art and culture, go ahead! 🙂

I miss my Plattenbau – Girl
Basic Information
What: Graffiti Where: Ehrenfeld graffiti wall at the …-Café Opening hours: 24/7 Fee: free How to reach: Line 3 + 4 + 13 stop Venloerstraße. (???), just walk there Website: Maps location:
The graffiti of … is, in contrary to what it might look like on the photo, quite big and quite difficult to photograph. Believe me, it took me a while to get it so “perfect”… Apart from that, the graffiti is surprisingly imposing and impressive and above all so big that you have to take a step back. If it is worth going there just for the graffiti? No, definitely not. Unless you’re a huge graffiti fan. Then you should though either take some time to visit Ehrenfeld – it’s not the only graffiti worth seeing in Ehrenfeld – or look for a graffiti tour. Maybe you’ll get lucky. As the graffiti is the work of a well-known artist, your chances might be good. So feel free to check it out! 😊

The Graffiti Pidgeon of Peace
Basic Information
What: Graffiti Where: On the wall of the street leading past the Claudius Therme in the direction of Deutz. Opening hours: 24/7 Fee: Free How to reach: Bus 260, … (Otherwise very easy to reach by bike) Website: Maps location:
When I came across this pidgeon of peace, I found her almost a little sad at first. She had caught dust, is a bit dirty and has also been a bit smeared. Nevertheless, she survived. And that’s how I suddenly perceived her. Peace also got crushed badly by hard times and often got disrespected or stamped upon, usually though always survives in the end. And that is precisely why I photographed her. She is a symbol. A strong, powerful one that can’t be beaten. This is not a must-see, of course. But maybe you’ll walk, drive or skate from Mülheim in the direction of the Therme. The route is actually fantastic for learning to skate, as well as for cycling or inline skating 🙂 And there are a few more cool graffiti on top 😀

What: Graffiti (eye) Where: next to the Rhine, Mülheimer Bridge, side Niel/Riehl, inside of the bridge Opening hours: Day and night Entrance: free Hot to reach: Line 18, stop Slabystraße + footpath Website: not available Maps location: Location
When I found the graffiti, I was just walking along the Rhine looking for nice spots to chill or picnic. I was just about to start walking when this eye caught my attention and wouldn’t let me go. At that point I thought to myself “Ey, I can’t upload graffiti as sightseeing posts.” Guess what. I did it anyway. Such an impact had this graffiti eye on me. So in case you got some time, feel free to check it out.

Colour Revolution
Basic Information
What: Graffiti Where: Ehrenfeld, … Square Opening hours: 24/7 Fee: free How to be reached: Bahnhof Ehrenfeld + footpath Website: Maps location:
The Color Revolution is a festival that has since …. been held in Cologne every second year It aims to make Cologne’s cityscape more beautiful. This particular graffiti was created in … Personally, I think it represents the idea behind the festival Colour Revolution very well, because it is not sprayed anywhere to “represent”. Instead, it’s in a place that, as you can see from the picture, is used daily by people from Cologne. Here, too, it was actually difficult to photograph it properly. I definitely wouldn’t go to Ehrenfeld especially for this graffiti. Instead, if I had enough days, I would take the time to explore Ehrenfeld with all its cafés, bars, restaurants and other hip places and let myself be surprised by the graffiti I pass by 🙂

The most colourful tunnel in Cologne
Basic Information
What: Graffiti Where: Tunnel near … Square Opening hours: 24/7 Fee: free How to reach: stop “Bahnhof Ehrenfeld” Website: Maps location:
Have you ever walked through a tunnel that was over and over painted with graffiti? And which are also conected like a huge painting? As far as I know, the tunnel at Bahnhof Ehrenfeld is the only one, at least in Cologne. And somehow I find it really cool. It gives the whole thing a really nice and somehow less gray vibe. I mean the graffiti actually makes the tunnel brighter! So pretty cool! If you should go there just to have a look at the tunnel? Unless you are graffiti freaks of course not. But also here I advise: just take a little time to get to know the anyway very cool and hip neighborhood of Ehrenfeld and build the graffiti in. Or a tour. Maybe you by accident get off at Bahnhof Ehrenfeld 😀 It would definitely have something walking through a graffiti tunnel, right? (upside down Simley)
