What: Ruin site
Where: near Mérida (very easy to reach with a bus that stops at several stations at certain times; it’s best to find out in advance at what time the bus returns (try to return around 5 pm at the latest, otherwise it’s a bit dark 😉)
Opening hours: 08-17.00
Fee: 90 pesos (according to the website; I also remember something around 80 pesos, so please don’t get ripped off)

To be honest, Uxmal is one of the coolest ruins I’ve been to. It has the perfect mix: not too crowded, nice and big, you can climb on top of most of it and it really makes an impression. Plus, the price is completely fair. Uxmal is actually one of my favourite pyramids in Mexico. Probably my favourite pyramid in the way that Uxmal is. Simply because Teotihuacán and El Mirador are different. Like in their structure etc.
I remember arriving at Uxmal by bus and hoping it wouldn’t be like Chichén-Itzá, but bigger than Ekbalam. And that’s basically what I got. An absolutely beautiful sight that gives you everything you need. So let’s go to Uxmal! Just let the photos in the post speak for themselves – and yes, of course I took more 😀
