Where: Siebengebirge, Königswinter (day trip from Cologne!!!)
Opening hours: since you’re running/hiking up a mountain, it’s possible at any time (the train up – for the lazy #sorrynotsorry – you’ll have to google yourself (kusssmiley) and if anyone wants to eat something up there, that’s up to you and your research, too)
Entrance: free
How to get there: according to the DB app Königswinter train station (usually quite reliable) with the RE 8 or the RB 27 in the direction of Koblenz (but please recheck from your location if there is another or better connection)
Website: not available
Maps location:
I think I can say that every person in Cologne has been to the Drachenfels in the Siebengebirge. It’s just simply super close, the hike itself is absolutely doable – even for children and/or e.g. slightly obese people – because!!! The way is not very steep and also not super long. So it’s kind of an excursion place for family day trips. I think I´ve been there with my parents, my school, friends etc.. And it’s really nice and pretty and costs nothing except for the train fare. You basically walk up a medium paved way (like a normal street) that leads through sunny and wooded passages and have a great view of the Rhine and Königswinter at the top. Additionally there’s fresh air, exercise and a chance to get out of the city. So: as soon as you´re through with the Main Attractions, let’s go! 🙂 😀
